Glaciers

Le Conte Glacier, in Southeast Alaska, is located some 20 miles south of Petersburg, at the head of Frederick sound. It is the southernmost glacier in the Northern Hemisphere, creating icebergs which feed into the Bay. Harbor seals thrive here and can be seen sunning on the icebergs which fill the Bay and provide a haven from Killer Whales, or Orcas.
