Thunder Wings and Jackson

Nathan Jackson's "Thundering Wings"
Greets visitors to downtown Ketchikan's Eagle Park. The name Ketchikan, may have its origin in the word for sound of thundering wings of an eagle. Another possible origin is the Tlingit word meaning "spreading wings of a protrate eagle." Also the word used to describe the creek around which Ketchikan has grown..
